Keysight 34945A Microwave Switch and Attenuator Driver Module for 34980A

The Keysight 34945A is a switch and attenuator driver module for the 34980A multifunction switch/measure unit, used to drive microwave switches and programmable attenuators mounted outside the mainframe.

External microwave switches need coil drive power and the right control signals, and wiring that by hand is where system builds usually lose time. One 34945A with its 34945EXT extender drives 64 switch coils 32 SPDT switches and the Y1150A to Y1155A distribution boards turn the wiring into a plug-in job. Switch readback confirms the actual position rather than the commanded one.
